Building Performance 101- Podcast

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with the team at Enso Homes for their Building Your Legacy podcast to talk about something I’m heavily involved in, building performance.

In the episode, we explore what actually makes a home perform well, why building science matters, and some of the problems that can occur when we focus on compliance without considering how a building will perform in the real world.

We talk about insulation, airtightness, ventilation, condensation, energy efficiency and the importance of getting the building envelope right from the outset.

These are issues I deal with every day through my work, and it was great to have the opportunity to discuss why a fabric-first approach can make such a difference to the comfort, health and efficiency of our homes.

If you’re a builder, designer, building professional, or simply interested in building better homes, I think you’ll find the conversation worthwhile.
