*BS = Building Science
The Building Science part sounds complicated but it’s not really. Building Science is just understanding the system of building and applying that knowledge to build better, more durable, healthy, comfortable and energy efficient buildings.
The Beer part sounds easy. It is. It doesn’t even need to be beer. It’s just the social part of the discussion harking back to the original BS + Beer group meeting in the U.S.A which was held in a pub/brewery. Click here visit my friends at the American BS + Beer website.
Every so often I spend an hour or so to have a discussion about Building Science related topics. I like to bounce ideas off people and I like learning from tradesmen. We all want to produce good buildings and we all face difficulties, especially with confusing code requirements. BS + Beer sessions are a good way to thrash through some ideas, solve some problems and also vent some frustrations.
These sessions open to everyone; designers, builders, tradies, building surveyors etc.
Sometimes these discussions will be online via Zoom, sometimes they will be in person at a local pub.
