I get a lot of questions about why I do my reports a bit differently. The simple answer is, I don’t do them to be different, I do them to achieve the best outcome.
Optimal results, in my view, are a product of applying sound building science principles in a manner that is both straightforward to comprehend and straightforward to execute. Simplification, in this context, does not equate to oversimplification. Instead, it means presenting concepts in a way that facilitates easy comprehension and practical application.
I have been asked to do a few video explainers about the concepts that I employ. I might do a video one day but in the meantime I’m very happy that my American friends, as usual, are a step ahead.
Steve Baczek & Matt Risinger have recently launched a video series, “Build Science 101.” This series is an excellent explanation of how building science is applied to achieve a higher performance outcome. This is how I approach my projects, and this is why my reports are a bit different.
