I was suprpised today when I learnt that the ABCB have released a BETA ‘housing efficiency’ ‘calculator. The calculator is basically a digitised version of the energy efficiency elemental Deemed to Satisfy provisions.
Those of you who know me will be aware that I have been digitising the energy efficiency elemental Deemed to Satisfy provisions since 2008, and I use this method as the basis for my reports.
In order to comply with the new rules, including ‘Whole of Home’, I have upgraded my system to the new NCC2022 protocol. It will be interesting to compare to the new ABCB supplied calculator.
There are differences. My system also includes heat loads and airtightness targets so I will be using this as my default method.
